“After all, an artist is by definition a man accustomed to dreams and living among apparitions."
YST Conservatory’s final orchestral concert of the year offers masterworks from three of the late nineteenth century's most iconic composers, each linking in a different way to its Dreams & Apparitions theme. Where Don Juan seems in retrospect a natural evolution in aesthetic and sonority to the subjective intensities of the Romantic age, Debussy's Fawn offers that era a quietly compelling revolution in musical approach.
